Which London neighborhood has the most art galleries?
I have a 24 hour stop over in London, and as an artist, I would like to visit art galleries. So I want to find a hotel in a neighborhood that has good gallery hopping. Neighborhood and hotel suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks, Sandy

There are alot! I just googled art museums London (didn't realize at first you wanted galleries) and got LOTS of results. Personally I think you would do well around Trafalgar Square- you have the National Portrait Gallery, St. Martin's in the Field with it's brass rubbing center and at least 10+ private galleries ranging from one focusing on gay photographers and horses to another run by a witch as well as more 'traditional' ones such as photography specialists, impressionists, etc. Also it makes a good location transportation and sightseeing wise.
Where are you arriving? Heahtrow? Eurostar at St. Pancras? Gatwick? Other? and Where are you departing from? It could also be wise to plan lodging based on one or both of those.
Hoxton/Dalston for hipster contemporary stuff.
I know you specially asked about galleries but I just got back from London and was stunned by the art collection at the National Gallery. It is in the previously mentioned Trafalgar Square area - it's actually on the square - and it is free so give it a chance if you go. I had to cherry pick pieces and limit myself to a couple of hours but it has a really amazing collection. My 2 pence,
