London accommodation

Hi All, We are a couple of Aussies in our 50's who will be visiting our daughter who lives in London. We will stay for 3-4 weeks in the centre of London. She has no room for us as she is in a shared house. We want to find a small self contained "something". We will want to cook and have a bed, prefer non hosted. As long as it is central, clean and preferably under $100/night. Has anyone any suggestions. thanks
Steve

Hi Steve. Have you considered renting an apartment? I haven't done that so I can't give you any advice, but I can tell you where I stayed in London this past September: Vancouver Studios in Bayswater. It's a hotel with kitchenettes in the rooms (fridge, two-burner cooktop, microwave, pots and pans and dishes). My single room cost 75 pounds per night, which was more than USD $100 per night, but London is an expensive city. However, I was able to save quite a bit of money by buying food from grocery stores and only eating out once per day.

Steve .Our $100 is about £60, good luck with your quest. Might try vrbo.com,

You might look into the hostels that have private rooms and shared kitchens.
Otherwise you may need to up your budget or do without a kitchen.

check airbnb.com...there are lots of people that rent entire apts...not sure if you'll find under $100 a night in a central area, but worth a shot...

Hi Steve, I'm heading to London in a couple of days I booked an apartment through www.homeaway.co.uk They have all sorts of apartments all over the UK, and the prices are much better than considering a hotel. Just check them out and it will let you see all sorts of wonderful, fully equipped apartments. All you need to provide is the food ! Happy Travels :)
