My niece has a non-paying internship at the US Embassy in Dublin and needs a low cost place to stay. She is a lovely and interesting young woman and very good with children and pets (even infants and horses). She'll be working during the day. If you know of a family with which she could stay, we would appreciate an introduction. Any suggestions would be welcome. Thank you!
You could contact university housing. Perhaps she could share a room with one or more students off campus.
Probably not exactly what she's looking for, but she can at least browse a lot of apartments/houses "to share" at http://www.myhome.ie/
Has she already contacted the Embassy to see what suggestions they have?
Embassies do accomodation referrals, who knew??
There is also www.aplacetorent.ie
Not sure how soon she's leaving and how long she's planning on staying, but Servas has a hospitality exchange program. There is an application process that you have to follow with an interview, and I don't know what the exact requirements are for how long Servas members are allowed to stay with a host family. There are host families in Ireland, but they don't publish a list of locations on their website so you'd have to ask if any are actually located in Dublin so she could get to work at the Embassy.
