Does anyone have a recommendation for lodging - B&B or small hotel in Galway, Doolin and Killarney?
Michael - Our family stayed at the Amber Hill B&B in Galway and we were quite pleased. Check out their website: www.amberhillbb.ie
We did a big mix of B&Bs and hotels on our trip. In Galway, we ended up at the Jury's Inn. We got a rate lower than B&Bs and the location is right at the end of the pedestrian area of shops, restaurants, and pubs, as well as the Long Walk, and Claddagh village, and with a pretty river view and sea view. Yeah, it's not as intimate, but it was a great location for the money! We also were able to do breakfast on our own. There is a great coffee shop just across the street with great breakfast options. Have fun no matter where you stay!
In Galway, I would recommend Petra House on College Road. It's about a 10 minute walk from Eyre Square. Joan and Frank are great hosts and the breakfast cannot be beat. http://www.petrahousegalway.net/#
Hi Michael, In Doolin (May 2012) we stayed at the Sea View House and at the Horseshoe House, both in the village. Both were quite comfortable and I'd stay there again. Just outside Killarney, near Muckross House and the National Park, is Friar's Glen, a dream of a B&B. My favorite in all of Ireland! Have fun!
