lodging in edinburgh

We are 3 couples looking for 2 nights lodging in Edinburgh this July. We want convenience and mid-range in price. Any suggestions??

When in Edinburgh, we love to stay at the Royal British. It is across the street from the train station and a brief walk from the "Royal Mile". It is a mid-range hotel. They have been in the process of refurbishing for several years, so if your room isn't "up to snuff"- just ask for another one. Breakfast is good too.

We recently booked with the Turret House in Edinburgh (A Rick recommendation) for May. They have since sold this B&B and now own the Glen Almond B&B. It is apparently even nicer than the Turret House, but they are willing to match the Turret House prices. So - since they are brand new, you may be able to "negotiate" for the Turret prices and they may not be as booked as some since it's new.

Just a suggestion - good luck!

My husband and I like the AmarAgua Guest House. It's in a quiet residential area, just a brief stroll from a major busline that stops at the Royal Mile. It's very clean and the hosts are very attentive and friendly during breakfast and then leave you alone to come and go and relax the rest of the day.
Regardless of which place you choose, book now. Edinburgh is a fantastic city and very popular in the summer.
