Does anyone know of a fair price for a lodging in Copenhagen, for July?

My wife and I are going to Copenhagen (and then on to Sweden) in July. Here is what we have lined up: four nights in a B&B for 2200 kroner (at the current exchange rate, $425, or about $106 per night). We made the reservation through Dansk B&B at www.bbdk.dk. We are then returning through Copenhagen and staying for one night prior to catching our plane back to the US. For that one night, we are staying at the Cab-Inn hotel (mentioned in Rick's book) for one night. Cost is 775 kroner, or about $149. Hope this helps give you some idea.

A lot depends on where you want to stay. There are many hotels, relatively inexpensive, right downtown by the central train station, near Tivoli. These are extremely easy to get to from the station (less than 3 blocks away). However, they are basically in a red-light district, which gets a little unsavoury at night. I always use booking.com. They are GREAT. And I never go without looking at Trip Advisor's reviews now. I have made the mistake of not looking at reviews, and it is not a good idea, IMO.

I've stayed at the Cab-Inn and it was clean, affordable and located near a Metro stop. I recommend them.

We went last July/August. I had read that hotels are actually a decent price during the summer because conventions are scheduled outside the summer travel season. I searched at tripadvisor.com and found two nice hotels near Koenigs Nytorv (much nicer area IMO than the main train station). We ended up paying $125 per night (a little under 100 Euros) including our breakfasts (which aren't normally included in Copenhagen). The hotels we chose were the Strand and the Opera. We actually arrived at the Strand and they sent us to the Phoenix because they had overbooked. Of the three the Phoenix is the most recently renovated, the Opera is the most conveniently located.

Try airbnb.com. They have several listings for different areas for apartments that are rented by the night. We are trying it in Stockholm next month.

Thanks for the help. I just booked a hotel in Copenhagen called, Carlton Hotel Guldsmeden. Its sounds like a good hotel, has organic soaps, and brekfast buffet. The price is fair, Dkr. 2873- for 4 nights. But brekfast is not incl.
Its fairly close to the train station.
