Has anyone been to the Lejre Research Center outside of Copenhagen? I understand it's an open air museum, and it gets great reviews on Trip Advisor. I'm wondering about anyone's experiences. Thanks.
Yes, we visited during the time we were doing a house exchange in Copenhagen. There were many things going on, including cooking on an open fire, chopping wood with a stone hatchet, and paddling around in a log canoe. Everything was available for visitors, including children to try. There were reconstructions of dwellings which you could enter. BTW, if you are a pre-history buff visiting Denmark, I strongly recommend the Moesgard Museum near Aarhus, as well.
