We will be 4 seniors arriving at Heathrow in early September and destined for our flat in Bermondsey. What would be the least expensive mode of transportation for the four of us as we will be tired from the flight. We all have oyster cards left over from our last trip three years ago and could reload them upon arrival at Heathrow. We have been to London many times and realize we will need to get our rest as we each are 84 years old. Yes....still traveling!! Looking forward to the Mayflower Inn/Restaurant in that area....as one of us is a genealogist and his people must have known this place! Thanks for any information, Mollie
I would get a car for 4 of you. www.justairports.com In the area you are staying there is the Brunel Museum and Great Hall. A big hit with my younger nephew - who is into that sort of engineering stuff.
Thanks so much Katy for your suggestion of the car to pickup the four of us. It's so logical! And we are all fond of the Brunel Museum by the way so thanks for that...we like to know others enjoy what we enjoy!. We have spent time in the Canada Water area and have had fun shopping there instead of the little bitty stores closer to our rental flat. Three of us are women and we all love to cook so we will probably have to take turns with at least dinner! All Best from USA Mollie
I agree with Katy 100 per cent. For 4 with luggage a car service makes the most sense to me, and is probably no worse for money than the Tube, unless the flat is right next to Bermondsey Tube. Even then, the interchange between the Piccadilly Line and the Jubilee Line at Green Park is not easy - even with the new lifts to the Jubilee Line. It is a long walk in the tunnels between the two lines. I don't think the Piccadilly Line bit at Green Park is step-free either.
