Laundry Facilities in Normandy

Since it appears that there are not really any type of laundry facilities in Ireland at the time and places that we would need them, we may have to wait until we get to Normandy. Any suggestions about that area?

Rosemary,
Normandy is a very large area, where are you going to be staying? If you're in Bayeux, yes there is a very nice laundromat, I used it when I was there.

If it's the same one that Ray suggested in Bayeux, that would be perfect. We will be pretty flexible because we plan to stay a few nights in that area. He said there may be one just around the corner from the TI office. Is that the one that you used? Thank you so much for your help.

Sorry, Nancy. I forgot to answer your question. We will actually be all over Normandy from St. Malo to Fecamp. We will try to stay in the middle of Normandy and then do some day trips from there, so we are flexible to finding something in any direction.

Sorry Rosemary, I didn't visit the TI in Bayeux so I'm not sure where the laundromat was and unlike others on this forum I tend to not remember street names or intersections. It was a couple of blocks down from the cathedral and right on the corner, that's all I remember. You could just ask at the TI in any town you stay in and they will know. I drove around Normandy and Brittany for 3 weeks and I saw laundries in almost all towns of any size - some were self-service but most were where you leave your laundry and pick it up later. I used this service myself once. Sure it was a splurge (20 euro to wash/dry/fold 2 loads of clothes) but worth it to not sit around for 2 hours and trying to figure out the washers/dryers and making sure I had the correct change. I went sightseeing while my clothes were being done and it was a nice little treat for me.

We did laundry at a laundromat in Bayeux and one in Honfleur.
