Laptop in Ireland

Will be on driving trip through Ireland. Like to have laptop to download pictures, emails...and comfort. What is WIFI access like in Ireland?

No idea, sorry. I use an internet cafe or internet access at my B&B when I'm there. When I was last there, in 2006, DSL was just coming to the west coast. I'm sure that things have changed immensely since then, but I would expect that things would still be behind here.

Hi Gary

Just returned from 2 weeks in Ireland - Dublin, Kinsale, Dingle, Galway, Derry, Portrush with an Ipod touch that can pick up WiFi. Found that all but one hotel or B&B had it, though the one in Portrush charged for it. My favorite place was the Ardawn B&B in Galway where I could sit outside and access my email on a bright sunny day. Even when not at the hotels, I was able to pick it up outside places like the TI, library and several small coffee/bagel shops. In places where it wasn't available, I was able to find cheap internet. Just used it for email and catching up on the news back home, but I was surprised how easy it was to find access. If you know where you are staying, you can check with hotels to see if they offer it. Found the same to be true in France last year - easier to get WiFi access than to find an internet cafe in some of the smaller towns.

Hope this helps.
