Hello! Thinking of staying in Kinsale for first two nights and am looking for something not too expensive and quiet, to wear off our jet-leg. Perhaps with no car as well. Thanks a bunch!
Hey Linda!
In such a case a B&B would suit you the best. There are some delightful ones in Kinsale like the Ashgrove House on Bandon Road. You can also try Rivermount House B&B on Barrells Cross(www.rivermount.com.
Another very good option for you can be the Woodlands House in Cappagh. The best thing about these three recommendations is that they have big spacious rooms, a good spread of breakfast and above all wonderful hosts!
Enjoy your trip

We stayed at the OldeBakery.Very nice place with great hosts.Easy walk to the retaurants. J.Edwards which is in Steves book and also was suggested by hosts was outstanding. We had a bit of a wait but it was worth it.
We liked the Old Presbytere. It is walking distance to everything--nice room and breakfast good also.
We've stayed at the White House before. Nice rooms but up a really steep set of stairs (typical for Ireland).
Good craic at the bar downstairs on a Saturday night as well.
desmond house in kinsale is brilliant...michael and his wife are unforgettable hosts...friendly and funny and a great breakfast each morning...amazed it is not in rick's book...i know he can't list them all but seems like his kind of place...
.
we stayed at the cloister inn in september. get the larger rooms if you stay there. great big beds, cool bathroom on a lower level in the room, televison, etc. met lots of people along the way in ireland that wanted to stay at the inn but did not reserve in time. the breakfasts are great and the location very central. very reasonable for ireland. super close to both fishy fish. have fun be safe.
Definitely stay in a B&B. There are a ton of good inexpensive ones in Kinsale, and it's the best way to meet the locals.
