Kinsale, Ireland-1 or 2 days?

I read that Kinsale has construction on their sewer lines throughout downtown. Does anyone know if this will still be going on at the end of June?

We're debating how long we need in Kinsale. Could we stay one night, explore the town in 1/2 a day, and make it to Kenmare that night?

Thanks in advance!

I don't know how long it will take you to feel that you have adequately explored Kinsale, but you can easily take an afternoon drive from there to Kenmare.

Thats what we did.We arrived in midafternoon and left the next morning for Kenmare. In driving to Kenmare Steves talks about the scenic drive from Muckross house to Kenmare. We went to Kenmare first and then drove the scenic road to Muckross.Very nice drive.

We were in Kinsale about three weeks ago. The sewer project is a pain, but it's possible to get around it (although the roads to go around it are quite harrowing!). Not sure how long it will be going on for.

I definitely think exploring Kinsale in 1/2 is possible. Be sure to check out Charles Fort on the edge of town. Very cool. We had a good dinner at Dino's, and had a lot of fun drinking pints and listening to music at The White House.

1/2 a day is pushing it. Any public works project in Ireland will take twice as long as it should.

The Bulman and or Fishy Fishy cafe are nice eateries.

I arrived in Kinsale around noon (after visiting Charles Fort) and left the following day, also at noon. I was able to enjoy the town, take the walking tour and didn't feel rushed at all.
