I am going to England in May and was hoping to bring my kindle fire to have access to the Internet, to help with planning my days. Will the wifi in England work with my American kindle? Is there enough free wifi to make this a good idea? I am going for 2 weeks with only 1 carry on, so I don't want to pack anything that will be useless.

Wifi in England works the same as here, so you'll have no problems accessing the internet with your Fire. Many hotels offer free Wifi, in addition places like McDonalds and Starbucks have it also.
