We had such a wonderful experience at the Seashore Farm B&B in Kenmare that I wanted to post the following: Owen and Pat O'Sullivan, two of the kindest, most good-hearted people you will ever meet, run the beautiful Sea Shore Farm Guesthouse about a ten minute walk down a quiet road from the village of Kenmare, in Co. Kerry, Ireland. The house overlooks meadows that lead down to the rocky, flower-ringed coves of Kenmare Bay. Swans will glide by, seagulls will dive and, if you are lucky, you will see the red fox who lives in the blackberry bushes. Our room was large, light-filled, and furnished with family antiques, original art, and warm beds. It is a cozy home from which you can stroll down to the flat rocks on the shore and perhaps have a picnic and read. The rooms come with a full Irish breakfast and all the hospitality you could wish for. As a gift, Pat made a delicious lunch for us to take on a hike. We felt like family. Recommend Packies Restaurant in Kenmare for dinners. A short drive to the beginning of the Ring of Kerry Drive, which we did not do. A great side trip from Seashore Farm, however, would be to the Kissane Sheep Farm in nearby Moll's Gap to see a sheepdog demonstration, sheep shearing, have a picnic and hike on well marked trails. Contact Owen or Pat at [email protected] or www.seashorekenmare.com. They can make arrangements for you at Kissane Sheep Farm.
