Kenmare B&B

I am travelling in late July, spending 3 nights in Kenmare. Staying in center of town limits B&B options, but was concerned about dark roads and long walks back to B&B. Any suggestions, comments on B&B location?

Can't give you any help with that but I always carry a very small pen like flashlight with me as some places we have stayed don't have sidewalks and this comes in handy.

We enjoyed our recent one night stay at Virginia's Guesthouse in the center of Kenmare. Neil and Noreen were wonderful hosts! Neil suggested a restaurant just down the street where a gifted musician, Michael O'Brien, was playing.
Wherever you stay, try to catch him.

Thanks for the suggestion - I have contacted Virginia's and made a note about the musician.

I agree 100% with Carol. We stayed at Virginias 2 nights this past April. Location is perfect! B&B and hosts are outstanding! Dan

In May of 2009, we stayed 2 nights at the Willow Lodge in Kenmare and we very pleased. We are 2 senior couples and were impressed with our accomodations/breakfast and with Gretta and Paul's helpfulness and cordiality. Situated close to Kenmare centre, within sidewalk walking distance to shops, restaurants, pubs and churches. Conveniently located near a city shopping mall and if my memory serves me correctly, the mall is inclusive of a grocery market.
