Just returned from trip 8/24. I wanted to give report on places I stayed. I booked all these B&B's in January and printed all the confirmed emails to take with me. Then the day before I left I called them all to confirm. Everyone of them asked me to call the day before or day of to let them know what time to expect me. So you will need to be sure to take phone numbers with you. We were a group of 6 and always got 3 rooms.
Dun Laoghaire - The Ferry House
Pauline's place is very nice. It is quaint and within walking distance of everything. There are 2 bus stops within a 2 minute walk and the DART stop is about a 7 minute walk. The breakfast room is nice and cozy. The rooms
are a nice size, bathrooms a little small but clean. She is full of good info and knowledge on what buses and DART stations to use to go to places. Her son Ronan helped me map out a route for the areas we were going and the best way to go. There is a beautiful little park around the corner that has a local market on Sunday inside it. Lots of vendors with yummy food and crafts. The pub food is great (Walters is a must!) When we needed help on an extra night in Dun Laoghaire Pauline even let me stay in her daughers room to be able to accomodate us. It is only 15 minutes to Dublin on the DART and definitely worth not being in the city. The views from the harbor are amazing.
