Our family of four is trying to find good but moderately priced family accommodation in London. We are trying to avoid the chains.
Has anyone stayed at the Jesmond Hotel in Bloomsbury near the British Museum? Can anyone recommend a favourite place in London (ideally west of the City and north of the Thames)for a family? We have booked our first three nights near Victoria Station at GBP169/nt but would prefer to keep it below GBP135 and don't mind a quieter neighbourhood. We are good walkers and don't mind stairs. We want clean safe quiet and a reasonable tariff.

Helen - You may want to use tripadvisor.com to get a review on your hotel. Here is another web site for you to look over www.londonhometohome.com. There are a couple of places in central london that may meet your needs. Our family will be staying at LHH/14: Roberta and family this summer.

Try the Morgan Hotel around the corner from the British Museum in Bloomsbury. www.morganhotel.co.uk I know they have at least one selfcatering flat, and probably family rooms as well. It's very reasonably priced and in a great location.
