Itinerary finalization - feedback desperately wanted!

I think I've finally settled on the itinerary for the second half of my trip. I would love some feedback, as this has taken a looong time. :)

Day 1-Tuesday, Fly to Dublin from London on an early morning flight / Day 2/3, sightseeing, a day tour / Day 4-Friday, Ferry from Dublin to Holyhead, train to Bangor / Days 5-8, day trips from Bangor / Day 9-Wednesday, Train to Carlisle / Days 10-11, Day Trips to Hadrian's Wall walks / Day 12-Saturday, Train to Edinburgh / Days 13-15 Edinburgh, with at least one day trip / Day 16, Train to London (possible with a stop in York???) / Day 17/Wednesday, last farewell to London day / Day 18 fly home!

This trip follows a month based in London and Brighton, with various day trips. I'd be interested in opinions on stopping in York on the way back to London from Edinburgh.

Thanks!

JumpinBug, I'd definitely recommend a stop in York if you have the time to fit it into your Itinerary! Preferably at least one to three nights would be good, as there's A LOT to see.

Will you be staying in Hostels or Hotels during your time in York? I stayed in a Hostel last time, and quite enjoyed it (the breakfasts were awesome!).

If you decide to stop in York, post another note to indicate how many days you have, what type of sights you're most interested in and accommodation preferences.

Cheers!

I strongly agree with Ken. Though even part of a day and a night are worth the stop. Absolutely woderful shopping and "wandering around" city. We stay at the Royal York- the railstation hotel. Eat at Gert and Henery's- awesome food! It is near the entrance to the market and the Shambles- its in a half-timber house!

Thanks, I'll look into a stop at York. It'll be a brief one, a day at most, but better than nothing!

I also love York. It's one of my favorite places.

For Dublin, I took the day tour with Bus Eirenn, from the downtown bus station, to Boyne Valley/Hill of Tara/Newgrange. If I hadn't taken that tour, my second choice would have been Glendalough. At night a guided pub crawl that focuses on literature or traditional music is a great way to spend an evening.

Edinburgh also has a variety of guided walks leaving from Merkt Square at sunset. Get there early to make sure you find the tour you want. I arrived late and saw a group so joined but quickly realized it was for little kids and dropped out early. Edinburgh Castle, the Park and the Art Museum were all worth seeing.
