Isle of Skye B & B's

Now that we will be able to leave Edinburgh in July we will need recs for the Isle of Skye. Any advice as to locations & b&b's. Is the I of S the best way to spend 2 extra days? Thanks, Bart

The Isle of Skye is a great place to spend a couple of days in Scotland. The last time I stayed on Skye I stayed at the Skye Picture House in Broadford. The location is in the countrysid, but they did serve dinner, but I think you have to order it. I loved the location, which is right on the water. We watched otters playing. Pam

We have been to Skye twice. The first time we stayed at Flodigarry Hotel in the actual cottage where Flora MacDonald once lived. It is a lovely hotel but the location is a bit remote. Last summer we stayed in Portree at Ben Tianavaig B and B. Our room had a view of Portree Harbor.

Bart,
We stayed at the Duirinish Guest House in Portree on Skye. It was a great B&B. Janette and Robert were lovely hosts. We looked at one place that was really old and strangely laid out. The beds didn't look comfortable at all, so we kept looking. We found Duirinish GH just by driving back towards Broadford and liking the outside of the house. The sign said they had vacancies. The room was large and warm, and the whole place was spotless. Pam
