Isle of Man

Yes it's wonderful. It's like every bit of the British Isles in one place. It's scenery blends more to the Irish scenery. Douglas is like an old fashioned English seaside resort. The weather is very Welsh and the local humour is very Scottish. The Manx people are a unique blend of personality taken from England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland.

It's not easy to get to. You either have to fly in from somewhere like Birmingham or catch a ferry from Liverpool. It's almost impossible to see all the island without hiring a car. My tip is to hire a small car ( the roads are very rural and narrow ) drive slowly and see everything. It's utterly beautiful.

Unless you loooove motorcycles and huge crowds, avoid the "Isle of Man TT". I don't know the 2008 dates, but this year it was late May-early June. Here's the website: http://www.iomtt.com/
