Ireland with a food allergy

I'm hoping to travel to Ireland in April of this year, but I've developed a pretty severe soy allergy in the last year. I'll be bringing benadryl, an epi pen, a medic alert bracelet, and an allergen information card for restaurants when I'm not eating out. I'm hoping to do some of my own cooking as well. Does anyone have any advice for eating in Ireland with a food allergy, soy or otherwise? Any advice for shopping for food on my own? Do restaurants generally cook in vegetable (soybean) oil or another kind of oil? Thanks in advance!

Just avoid Asian and Indian Restaurants. Eat Kosher Deli food. Always ask first and eat food that is fresh and watch out for any salad dressings. Eat a lot of picnic style meals...which will save you money. Good Luck.
