Ireland Tour

We have planned our own trips to Europe so far (5) but would like to join a tour for a change. We are looking at RS 14 day tour May 2014 and would like to know if any folks out there have done this tour and your comments. Also going on our own you can go at your own pace. Are these tours rushed? And are they true to Rick's philosphy, 2-3 star hotels, B&B's and are the provided meals exceptional?

We took a 14 day TAUCK Tour of Ireland in June, 2012. It was fantastic. There were just 26 of us. We totally recommend TAUCK tours. We have been on four TAUCK tours and are doing Australia and New Zealand next month.

Shelley, I've taken the RS 14-day Ireland tour and would highly recommend it. The tour is actually 12-days, as it doesn't start until about 17:00 on Day 1, and ends just after breakfast on Day 14. I didn't find it to be "rushed" at all. The pace was just about right, and they provide lots of free time including a "free day". The tour was a lot of fun, we ate VERY well at the group meals, and it provided an interesting look at Irish history and culture. The hotels were all very comfortable, but I don't remember if they were 2-3 star or not? Both the lead Guide and local Guides were outstanding! Happy travels!

Had to put this trip on the back burner as I wanted to see the Scandinavian countries as well as Russia this time. Going to Italy first then Paris, and then a cruise. I have the RS books on Ireland and fully intended on going this time but will have to wait a couple of years. You are a well of knowledge and I do appreciate you taking the time to answer my postings. Again thanks
Shelley
