My husband is going on a golf trip to Ireland in July with some of his "golfing" friends. I was wanting to meet up with him in Dublin on July 21 and then we were wanting to take a river cruise though Ireland for the next week. I am having difficulty in finding river cruise information. Has anyone done this before? What advice can you give me as I start planning this trip? Thank you very much for any assistance you can give me.

Are you talking about a self-drive barge type of river cruise? Or a hotel barge? You might find what you are looking for at www.cruiseireland.com. I can't say that I have ever really heard of much river cruising there, but it obviously exists. No experience with it, though.

Locaboat has a route that goes up/down the Shannon. I've seen them go by past Clonmacnoise. I'm happy with locaboat, but have never done that route.
