I will be traveling to southwestern Ireland in mid-November and wanted to know people's suggestions on staying in Dingle and Kenmare during this time. From some of my research I'm finding many places are closed in November.
Thanks for the information. I will look into the free B&B guide and also check out the website for discover Ireland.
Amanda
Amanda, I recommend getting the free Bed & Breakfast Ireland guidebook from Tourism Ireland at 345 Park Ave., NYC 10154. It lists nearly 2,000 B&Bs nationwide with all the details one needs. It's organized alphabetically by county, then town name and is much easier to navigate than fishing one-by-one on line. I can recommend one B&B in Dingle Town where I've stayed a few times: Kirrary House B&B run by Eileen Collins. E-mail is [email protected]; phone: +353 (0)66-915-1606. I don't know if she's open in November, but her hospitality is tops - as is that of every Irish B&B in which I've stayed. Her husband is the town's retired chief of police and Rick's local history resource when he's in Dingle.
You can also check the listings at www.discoverireland.com. They are listed by area and will say whether they are open after Nov 1 (many are not, as you have discovered).
