Quick Question: for those who have rented cars in ireland, did they come equipped with a cd player or just a basic radio? Thanks so much for your time.
We got a tiny car and it had a CD player, so I would think that a lot of cars would have one. If it's important to you then you should request it, though.
When we were in Ireland we also had a smaller car and it did have a CD player. I would bet that most car rentals will have them as they typically have fairly new cars, but I agree that you should check it out in advance if it is something you really want. Have a great trip!
My last one had a CD player, as well. Didn't really use it much because we preferred listening to the local radio, hearing the accents, and finding out what was in the local news.
If you really need the CD player, call the toll free phone number for the auto agency and talk with an agent about it.
He will know what percentage of cars have them. And it will be chance that you get one. We dont always get what we request when we rent a car. So check when you take the car; ask for another car before you take it.
Nearly every vehicle will have one. If you arrive and your car doesn't have one, go back inside and ask for another vehicle.
The Hyundai we rented had both a CD player plus an MP3 player, so we could hook our iPod up. I would say more often than not, though, we listened to the radio. It was a lot of fun listening to their programs. Our favorite was Today FM.
