Ireland questions

I am planning a trip to Ireland in June. We are spending June 5-9 in Dublin, June 10-13 in Killarney, and June 14-16 in Galway. We will fly out of Shannon on the 18th (staying somewhere close to the airport on the 17th).

We are renting a car on the 10th out of Dublin. Are the drives from Dublin to Killarney and Killarney to Galway reasonable? About how long would they be?

And I am confused about the insurance for the rental car....won't the insurance I have here cover me?

No, the insurance you have here won't cover you. Take the super CDW -- it's worth the extra money. Roads are narrow and you'll be driving on the opposite side of the road from what you are used to.

Use www.viamichelin.com to check the driving times between places in Ireland, but add about 20% to their time estimates.
