Can you suggest a route to see Giant's walkway, Dublin, and Dingle (or ROK) in a week? Starting and ending in Shannon.
Get a map, buckle up and pedal to the metal......and keep to the left.
As you are probably aware, the Giant's Causeway is about as far north and east as you can get in Ireland and then Dingle is almost the furthest point in the SW.
Since you have such a short amount of time, I suggest that you skip the GC for this trip, if that's all your going to see in the north. Don't get me wrong, it is a very interesting geological formation, but best left when you can spend time in the north.
The southwest and west have so much to offer. You can easily eat up 6 days there. You could even see both ROK and Dingle.
If you are still insisting to go north, the best way to plan the trip is to get a map and stay on as many "N" roads as possible, which is not easy to do since most of them go east and west not north and south.
In addition, be sure to read more of the postings about Ireland. You will see that driving is a popular subject and it is notoriously slow.
Seriously think about leaving GC for another trip.
It could be done at a push I guess if you fly into Shannon and start your journey in Dingle.
2 nights in Dingle. Dingle to Castlebar 1 night. Distance 181 miles about 5 hours driving.
Castlebar to Portrush 2 nights. Distance 174 miles about 4 and half hours driving.
Portrush to Dublin 151 miles about 3 and half hours.
This would give you two days in Dublin.
A very hectic schedule!
