Ireland - Insurance

Following the 2011 Steves' guide for Ireland I intend to purchase super CDW. However before making a commitment I requested a copy of the policy to understand the coverage and limitations I was to purchase. Instead I was referred to a page with a set of "Terms and Conditions", for informational purposes. an example of the Theft Loss coverage went so far as to say, "coverage limits your financial liability." Wow!! Nothing to lose sleep about with tight language like that. This was from Europcar Ireland, a reputed "good" company.
OK community, what thoughts do you have? Should I move on to ________ Company? Thanx for sharing your wisdom.

I'm not sure what your concern is. Super CDW covers the deductible you would otherwise be liable for, that's it in a nutshell. Without it, your rental company might give you a deductible of 1000 euro or more.

I used Budget last time. You will get legalize from all of them so I wouldn't worry. You want the super CDW which covers everything but tyres (tires). I brought the car back with a hanging side mirror and several branch scratches. All the guy did was open the trunk and make sure the spare tire was in good shape.

I used sixti.com and then I also contacted AMEX who provided me with complete insurance for $19.50 (or something like that) a rental. Europcar is a reputable company, and I'm sure thats a standard form all companies use.

The company Michelle is referring to is Sixt, not sixti.

AMEX rental car coverage is a very good value, but it's not valid in Ireland. (Nor in Australia, Israel, Italy, Jamaica, or New Zealand.)
