Ireland in November

We have a November business trip to Dublin and would appreciate any comments on day trips that time of year-we will have three days at end of business meetings.

Sunset at that time of the year is approx. 4:45 so I would suggest shorter trips such as Newgrange/Boyne Valley,Powerscourt and Glendalough. There are many tour companies offering day trips to these areas. Bus Eireann,Irish Rail,Wild Wicklow,Over-the-top tours etc.

The real beauty of Powerscourt is in the gardens, which won't be worth viewing in November. Glendalough, though, is well worth a visit.

I haven't been yet but have been studying Rick's Ireland book. I think a trip to Glendalough and the Wicklow Mountains should be one day. High on my list is a day trip north to Bru na Boinne/Newgrange/Knowth. For your third day trip, you could go up to Belfast.

Knowth may be closed at that time of year. I have been to Newgrange in February, and Knowth (accessed from the same visitor center) was closed for the season until March 1. I suspect it closes on November 1.

I was in Ireland for a week this past November and the weather was cold - but dry. We did get some light sprinkles 1 day only.
We were home based in Adare (Adare Manor) and had a rental car.
Most of what we wanted to see was in the southwest of the country .....but we did spend the last 2 days in and near Dublin.
I would recommend Nov. - not many tourists and we were very lucky with the weather.
One thing about driving.....it takes much longer to get anywhere - miles looks short - but the roads prevent you from making speed like you do in the US.

Thanks to each of you replying. I believe we have a pretty good feel for day trips during our trip.
