Ireland: How much to budget per day?

I'll be traveling in Ireland in May, and am trying to figure out roughly how much to budget per day for food (mostly lunch and dinner as breakfast is with the room), drinks (how much for a pint?) and attractions. I'm flying into Shannon and staying in Galway, Dingle, Glendalough, and Dublin for a total of 7 nights.

You can find the price of many attractions online on the various Ireland tourism websites. Depending on what you intend to see, you could get a pass that covers many of them for one price, and it could save you some money. I haven't been there recently enough to advise you about the cost of food and drinks.

My husband and I traveled to Ireland in 2005. It's hard for me to remember exactly what we spent each day on food, pubs, etc. It is roughly the same as you would spend here for the most part, probably ad $10 per meal for the exchange rate. A pint was about 5-6 euro if I remember right. Depending on how fancy or casual you want to go, you can find it all there. We went to a really cool pizza/jazz place in Dingle, we can't remember off hand if it was called the Blue Zone or the Blue Note. Either way if you are a pizza and music fan it's a very cool, pretty affordable place. Shoot me a personal email if you would like any other specific suggestions. Hope you have a great trip!

It depends on what you are looking for regarding food. Are you planning on eating takeaway for picnic lunches, or pub grub? Do you want a sit down meal at a white tablecloth establishment for dinner or some cheap ethnic/fast food you eat at a formica counter standing up?

In 2007 for takeaway picnic lunches, I generally spent between 5 and 8 Euros. For a sit down meal someplace nice, 13 to 25 Euros. For pub food, about 7 to 15 Euros.

Pints are also varying prices depending on where you are at. If you drink in the pubs that are on the tourist track, you'll pay more. If you drink in a swanky dance/nightclub, you'll pay more than a pub. You could pay anywhere between 2 and 7 Euros for a drink. As far as numbers, it's generally the same NUMBER you'd expect in Boston...i.e., you can get a beer in Boston for anywhere between $2 and $7 USD, but it's the EXCHANGE rate that kills you in Ireland because it's 2 to 7 Euros.

As previous poster states, go online for attraction costs.
