Ireland & Great Britain in April & May; Need to Book Rooms in Advance?

Hi, I am traveling solo to Ireland and Great Britain the middle of April to the middle of May. I have booked my rooms in the places I am flying into, Cork City, and out of, London, but I am wondering if I need to book the rest of my rooms before I go or if I can arrive in a town and find a place to stay. I have a basic itinerary of the places I would like to visit, but I would like to leave my schedule as open as possible in case something comes up in a place and I would like to spend more time there and because I will be relying on public transportation in the event I miss a train or bus. My tentative itinerary is.. Cork City – 2 nights (B&B booked) Dingle – 2 nights Galway – 2 nights Aran Islands – 1 night Donegal Town – 2 nights Derry – 2 nights Liverpool – 2 nights (Hotel booked as I will be arriving on a booked flight from Belfast) Keswick – 2 nights Inverness – 1 night Portree – 2 nights Pitlochry – 1 night Edinburgh – 3 nights York – 2 nights Moreton-in-Marsh – 3 nights Moretonhampstead – 2 nights
London – 6 nights (Hotel booked) Do you think I need to pre-book any other locations or should I be okay during shoulder season finding rooms as I go? Thanks, Laura

I would book ahead for Portree. When we were there in 2010, there didn't seem to be scads of rooms available.

Moretonhampstead is in the middle of nowhere, miles from Newton Abbot and Exeter. I might try to have something prebooked there. That'll be quite a driving day. I assume you will be driving?

Cynthia - Thank you. I will definitely look into lodging in Portree. Nigel - Thanks for the suggestion about Moretonhampstead. I am taking public transportation into the park. I have figured out the train schedule from Moreton-in-Marsh to Exeter and then the bus schedule from Exeter to Moretonhampstead. I know it will be quite a journey, but Dartmoor is one of my must sees. :)
