Ireland/England itinerary advice

My sister and I will be going to Ireland and England for the first tme this summer. Here is a tentative itinerary. We are flying in and out of Dublin. I am questioning if it is worth going to Bath and/or Dingle based on the travel times it would take to get there. We will be using public transportation. You should take into account arrival/departure time (besides sleep time)

Kent provided an excellent check list.

Fabulous! I hadn't seen those websites before.

Ok. I'll probably be cutting out either Bath, York, or Dingle and then rework everyone else. I know it is a personal choice, but if anyone has advice on which to cut, please let me know. Bath and York are easier to travel to, but don't have as much of a draw for me as Dingle, which take a day to get to.

Thanks!

Alicia, I really don't think you have to cut anything out; your trip is certainly manageable. It really just depends on how leisurely you want your trip to be. The day that you return to London from York and then fly to Dublin or Dingle is a fair bit of travel. When I am flying out of London, I do like to stay in London the night before.

However, if you do decide to cut back, you could spend more time in London and visit Bath as a daytrip.

Alicia,

I agree with Laura that your England itinerary seems manageable, although I also agree that heading back to London sometime on the 29th makes sense.

The difficulty seems to be when you head back to Ireland. If you just stay in Dublin, you'll have six nights there, which is a bit of a waste. But if you head to Dingle, it becomes a long trip there and back. Have you looked into the fare on a Stansted-Kerry flight? It might be expensive since they're both smaller airports.

I would head to Dingle unless it turns out to be way too expensive or time consuming. One way to do that might be to spend a night near the Kerry airport, in Killarney for example.
