Ireland eateries!

Hi, My cousin is travelling to Dublin, Cork, Killarney and galway and I would like to get her a gift certificate for a nice authentic restaurant with a great atmosphere for her trip or really for her brithday. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!!

I'm not sure the Irish do the "gift certificate" thing like we Americans do. I'd suggest purchasing some Euro at your local bank, AAA, or airport, and provide suggestions for a nice place for her to spend it. I did this for some friends on their honeymoon - my gift was specifically dedicated to purchasing gelato in Italy. They had a great time trying out flavors on me, and they got to pick out the places that looked fun to them.

Cl's idea is spot on. How cool would that be to get a card with Euro's in it knowing you're going to Europe soon! It's not only unique but also shows you put some effort into getting the gift.

Thanks! This is definitley what I am going to do! I am going to put powerpoint slides together with a few recommendations and print them off. Now I just need the few good recommendations :) I am looking online, but like others feedback as well so let me know if you have any suggestions. Thanks!!

Sara,

In Galway I'd recommend the Galway Bakery Company. Check www.gbcgalway.com/ for all the details. Be sure to click on the reviews tab for some interesting comments. The meals in the upstairs dining room are more "elaborate" than those on the main floor.

Cheers!
