I am wondering if anyone has information on taking a ferry from Dingle to our next destination of Galway. Would we have to catch the ferry in Tralee? How long does the trip take and what is the fee if you don't have a car? My hope is that a ferry would take us by the Cliffs of Moher. Any info anyone could provide would be appreciated.
I was wondering the same thing! The Rick Steves Ireland book (pg 235) makes it sound like there is a ferry that you catch in Tralee that goes directly to the Cliffs of Moher. I was researching this last night and am so confused. Can anyone clarify what this is? I want to go from Dingle to the Cliffs of Moher area (either round trip, or a one way ferry for a car). Please help!
I believe what is referred to is taking the Ferry from Tralee to the Cliffs of Mohr rather then driving around. We did it and it saved time/The cliffs are not too far from the north side of the boat trip.have a great trip jack
Yes we also took the ferry that crosses a large mouth of the Shannon River (at least that is what I think it was). It took about 45min maybe less. Its just a quicker way then to drive around to get to the closest bridge. You still have to drive a little way to get to the Cliffs from the ferry but its not that bad.
