My husband and I will be in Dublin for Saint Patrick's Day this year and we have one extra day to do a day tour from Dublin. Anyone have any suggestions on where to go? Thanks!
The two "standard" recommendations for day trips from Dublin are to go south to Glendalough and the Wicklow Mountains, or north to Newgrange and the Boyne River Valley. Both are available as bus tours, or easily reachable by car. You could also take the fast train to Belfast as a day trip.
I would do the day trip on St. Patrick's Day and spend the next day in Dublin.
Id suggest Newgrange.
