My husband and I will be traveling around Ireland in July. Has anyone ever used the bed and breakfast voucher system? Are the choices nice? Will it be hard to find place in July without a reservation?

When you buy the vouchers you get a directory of every B&B that is registered with the tourism board. You make your own reservations ahead of time, or call ahead while you are there. We traveled in shoulder season and booked everything ahead from home, but on subsequent trips, I haven't booked anything ahead (and no longer use vouchers). The directory tells you which ones accept vouchers.
