ireland and easter

Hello!
I have a flight booked for 10 days in Ireland. A couple weeks ago I realized that Easter falls about 2 days into the trip. So my thought is to schedule Easter night in one of the more touristy castles-- something really full service-- rather than a b&b because I'm worried about things being closed.

We'll be close to Dingle when Easter comes around. Has anyone been in Ireland during Easter? Should I be worried about most services being closed?

Thanks

HI,
I was in Ireland, near Kilkenny a few years ago on Easter. The I only time encountered anything that was closed for the holiday was on Good Friday. Some of the churches were shut for services, most stores shut a bit early. The pubs were supposed to be closed, but I was told that they just lock the doors and you have to knock to be let in. Dingle may be a bit different being that its mostly smaller towns and village, but I wouldn't worry too much. Not much is likely to be closed on Easter Sunday beyond what is shut any other Sunday there.

Happy Travels,
Rebecca

I just realized the same exact thing! I think I'll be in Galway from Good Friday-Easter Sunday. I was planning on renting a car on Easter Sunday (will places be open?) and then driving south toward Cliffs of Moher and then onto the Ring of Kerry.

Does anyone foresee this being a major problem w/ traffic, crowds, things being open??

Thanks in advance for your insight....
