I will be driving between Cashel and Killarney in late March. Would it be worth a slight detour to stop at Lough Gur heritage site? I know the visitor centre is not open that early in the spring but I'm hoping one is allowed to walk to the various sites there (I found a trail map on the website). I thought I'd also stop briefly at Adare village for a bit to eat afterwards before heading south.
