I have heard that you have to purchase special plans to get cell phone connections in Britain if your are traveling from America. We plan to use our iPhone's connection to the internet to access Google Maps so we can find our way around the small back roads of Wales. Will we need to purchase one of these special plans? If so, how do we do it? Here or in Britain? How much will they cost? Do we purchase by the minute or for a set amount of time? We are novices to oversees travel so will appreciate all you help.
Contact your cellphone service provider. They can tell you what the rates are and how to go about doing it.
Nancy's suggestion (above) is especially important because there have been reports here that some iPhone users have returned to the US to be surprised by very large bills, after it was too late. Know before you go.
