inexpensive accomodations in Cork?

We need a good place to stay one night in Cork. We don't need anything fancy, just clean and inexpensive.

We are planning to stay at the Bella Vista in Cobh the next night, does anyone have any experience there?

Thanks for any information you can offer, I have really appreciated all the feed back I have recieved from this group so far.

Sharon,

I didn't stay in Cork, but I see that no one has answered this yet so I'll give it a shot.

I was considering staying in Cork, and looked at Kinlay House, which is a hostel. It looked to a clean place in the city for a reasonable price.

I chose to stay in Kinsale, though, and was glad I did. It's a charming town. We stayed at Harbour Hill Farm, which was great. There are many inexpensive B&B's in Kinsale. We paid about $100 a night.

Best of luck. Enjoy your trip!

Thank you so much for your reply,

Our probem is that there are 5 of us traveling together. there are so many places that are the same price for 1 to 4 people sharing a room, but you add one more, even if she is only 3, then we need to get a second room.

This little 3 year old is costing us a considerable amount more, but we can't leave her for 3 weeks.

Thanks again, we are going to spend a day in Kinsale.

Have you tried B&B's?? I would think they would be more accommodating of your large group than a hotel. There are sites like bed and breakfast ireland that you can search to find a list of options in each city.

Best of luck. Enjoy your trip!

Just a couple of thoughts....
I have used 2 websites to get ideas of B&B's that you might like to check out.

www.bnbireland.net and www.bnb-network.com

Rick's book has good suggestions but sometimes not a lot of them so I also check other guides (from the library)

Have a great trip!

We stayed at the Auburn House B and B, but I don't think it would work for your family.

Have you considered hostels. Many hostels have family rooms, or with 5 of you a dorm room all to yourselves might work. I cross reference between hostelworld.com and tripadvisor.com, and have stayed in some absolutely fabulous hostels - clean, quiet, well located etc.

Good luck!
