I am departing on Sat for Heathrow. After the initial reports of the Iceland volcano eruption and worries about ash fallout, nothing has been in the news since. Have there been any airport closures? Will the problems be over by Saturday?

As of now (2 minutes ago) Heathrow is in normal operation. If you check this website....http://www.heathrowairport.com/ it will let you know that operation status of Heathrow. There has been a lot of cancelations in other parts of Europe.

Most of the delays/cancellations have been Scotland, N. England. You are prob safe but there may be delays with alternate routing etc going on for awhile. I will be leaving for Edinburgh in June I hope. I too havebeen following airport info on the specific websites for ea airport.
