I like this itinerary. I've never been to Iceland, so I can't say anything about it. You have four full days in London --very nice --and perhaps a day and a half in Bath which is fine. Be sure of the train times on the weekend so you don't waste too much time traveling to Bath. Also, if you are planning to see Stonehenge from there by a tour, then a day and a half might be tight. Try to get an early start on your travel days to York and to Edinburgh. They're both great cities and you'll want to make the most of your time in them. Sounds like a great trip.

Your itinerary sounds good.....not sure if you have the schedule for the trains..the train from Bath to Moreton-in-Marsh leaves once an hour..it's a 2 hr 15 minute trip so I would recommend taking the first train out around 7am. Then while in the Cotswolds you will be able to get to some villages by bus but a lot of the small quaint villages you won't be able to get to. If you decide you would like to have a car for a day there is a place in Burton-on-the-Water that rents cars. The train from Moreton-in-Marsh...make sure you get the train that only has one change...which will be an 4hrs 40min trip..the other trains has two changes and takes 5 hrs.

Thank you all for the responses. I do plan to catch the early trains each time. We had to cut a day from somewhere to add time in Iceland, but I think it will be worth it. If we run short of time, we will just have to go back!

Chad - We used East Coast Rail to purchase our train tickets for our vacation last summer. Since it looks like you know your travel days, you should be able to save money buying your train tickets ahead of time. Also you can look at train schedules and get an idea of travel times.
