Ice Bar in Stockholm

We are planning a trip to Scandanavia in the Spring. Has anyone been to the Ice Bar in Stockholm, Sweden? Am wondering if we should include a stop there on a short (6 hours) visit to Stockholm. Any thoughts/comments will be appreciated.

Hi Pam, Since no one has yet answered you I will give you our ice bar experience but in Copenhagan. Yes, everything was made of ice and it did make a great photo op - but I consider it strictly a tourist gimmick and way expensive . The whole place was about as big as my kitchen - it was pretty full with 4 couples. The drink menu was limited to appx. 6 -8 choices and there was no party atmosphere at all. If you only have 6 hours I would skip it - heck, I'd skip it with 6 days. Go see the Vasa - a much better use of your short time in Stockholm. I hope this prompts someone to give you their Stockholm ice bar experience. Happy Travels, Jean

I agree. The ice bar is a gimmick, kind of cute idea but essentially just one expensive drink then shuffled out so the next group can come in. We REALLY liked the Vasa, and enjoyed walking the downtown area. Six hours may be about right for those two with not much left over.

Depends on your expectations. We visited an ice bar at the Liseburg amusement park in Gothenburg. We got in as they opened the bar and were the only ones there for the first 10 minutes. The drink selection was limited but that didn't matter to me. I just wanted to check it out, have a drink, take some photos and go. It was a unique experience and have some great photos.
