i am looking for a low priced gym in central london
the cheapest options ive found are
40 pounds/month at the waterloo campus of kings college in london

both prices are for members of the public and are close to metro and bus stops.
Have you tried Gold's Gym? There are three of them in London, and one of them might be close to where you want to be.
Leisure Centres? We swam at one in the Bayswater neighborhood near Paddington. Very cheap but we dont ber if they have workout equipment. Worth a look?
As Paul n Sara mentioned, there are a number of Leisure Centres run by the local councils. I've only used them for swimming. They also have gyms and offer various classes, but I don't know if they have any exercise equipment. Porchester Spa is in Bayswater, Queen Mother Sports Centre is on Vauxhall Bridge Road, and there are others. You can pay by the visit or get a monthly card.
