Thank you, Alex. I was fortunate to be on the Hurtigruten during the current section of this voyage from Bergen to Alesund just about this part of June several years ago. Looking at it now during the wee hours there, one sees how it truly never gets dark that far North this time of year. I love the views over the bow and on the bridge.

Kirkenes is a great place to visit. It's on the border of Russia. We spent a week there at the home of friends. Thanks for sharing this.

Watching this video makes me want to go there. Reminds me of the San Juan Islands here in Washington State. It's essentially one long commercial for the cruise line, and it works very well! Nice size ships too, not too large, less than 1000 pax. We have Alaska cruises from Seattle on these mega cruise ships, I can't imagine it would be fun. Better to take the Alaska ferry from Bellingham.

I have been keeping the cruise window open on my computer for the past several days and enjoy popping in to see what's happening. I have been fascinated by the two times I've seen the ship dock with euphoric Norwegians standing on the edge and waiting for the ship to come to a stop...in one city a choir was singing and in another a band was playing, and most in the crowds were waving flags. I've also enjoyed listening to the Norwegian music that occasionally plays. A great cultural experience without ever leaving home!
