We are looking at doing a cruise from Bergen to Kirkenes in August next year. Does it matter which boat we choose? Is the trip going north better than in the opposite direction? Can anyone suggest good hotels in Bergen.

We traveled from Bergan to Kirkenes and back to Trondhiem on the Kong Harald. We would be happy to travel on any of the Hurtigruten boats, we found the whole Hurtigruten team helpfull. We would suggest checking out the itineraries to see which direction allows you to see the most on your wish list, also some excursions are only available going north or south. We stayed at the Clarion Collection Havnekontoret in Bergen, good location, comfortable rooms and friendly staff. Hope that you have a great trip Helen
