There are some good packing tips on the graffiti wall portion of the website, including one for packing for ladies. I have done 19 and 23 days to Europe with a carry-on and a computer bag! Totally doable for a week!

There are many ways to pack and most are demonstrated on youtube. You can bundle wrap, you can roll your clothes, you can use packing cubes. Do you have your clothing set aside for the trip yet? Since you are about 2 weeks out, I would recommend you setting everything you are taking aside and doing a test pack this weekend. Do you have a packing list? Some people recommend starting to pack on paper (by creating a list) before you start to pack your suitcase. I went to a packing demo a couple of weeks ago at my local AAA. You can check their website for events being held in WA and see if anything is coming up before you go, too. Pam

Kathy, Read Europe Through The Back Door by RS. They probably have it at the library. Create a packing list and pack everything a couple of days before you fly to make sure you took everything. Have fun!

Kathy, On the Rick Steves Homepage, go to "Plan Your Trip", and then the tab that says "Travel Tips"...that page has Packing Tips for Women, as well as a Women's Packing List. I suggest you start with his advice on Packing Smart and Traveling Light...it will be some of the best advice you will ever get on travelling in Europe. Follow those and you'll be fine. That page also has numerous other tips and info on a variety of topics( it's essentially a boiled down, online version of his Europe Through the Back Door book). Since you only have a week or so before you leave, just try to absorb some of the info from that site....and if you can, pick up an Ireland guidebook somewhere to take with you, it will be a very useful tool...

Hi,
I always just pack for a week with a lot of neutral mix n match kind of clothing. I pack a small bottle of Woolite (and stain removerbut pour some stain remover into a small travel sized spray bottle). That way, if you're eating pizza or curry n chips and some fall on your lap, you can spot treat. I would wash our underwear with the Woolite in the sink of our hotel and hang to dry while out and about for the day. Also, if you're willing, many towns/cities have places that will wash your clothes for you (our country hotel did it for us). It was a little bit more, but we didn't have to spend the day a the laundro-mat. Then, we had fresh clothes for the next leg of our trip.

I have traveled for 4 weeks with a carry on.. Piece of cake. You can refer to packing lists, but don't feel obligated to bring something just because it's on the list. For one week I would wear a pair of pants and pack 2 more. Wear a top and pack 6, using a combination of short and long sleeves. A light jacket should be sufficient. Definitely bring something waterproof. Have 2 pairs of shoes. Since it seems that you will be in one place for the week, you could bring less tops and hand wash halfway through the trip. All clothes should be able to mix and match for the greatest versatility.
