Hello all! I will be going to Dublin for the first time over the first week of January (that's when the weather's best, right? ;> ) and I see that there is a big river and a canal system. I would love to hire a kayak (or other small person powered boat) for an afternoon and paddle around.
But Google has failed me - I can't find any information about doing such a thing - does anyone know if it's possible, and if so, how to go about getting a boat?

[edit: all the touristy tours seem to be shut in Jan, so I've no luck there either]
