How's the neighborhood - Earls Court?

In the past we've stayed in the S. Kensington area (London). This year we're considering some places in the Earls Court area. What has been your experience with that neighborhood?

It's fine....and technically right next to South Kensington. I've stayed in both South Kensington and Earl's Court and would stay in either again. In fact, I'm planning to stay in Earl's Court on my next trip

I 've stayed in both areas and couldn't tell when I entered or left one except when I looked at plaques on the building corners. So I guess answer is,, they are similar to the casual observer( I am sure locals and regular visitors can easily tell them apart?)

I lived in a flat in Earl's Court for a few months when I lived in London. It is fine. A little more commercial than South Ken. Just stayed at Base2Stay there last week and was quite satisfied.

I love it! I stayed in Earls Ct all 3 of my London trips so far (creature of habit). It is near the high street Kensington (walk south up Earls Ct Rd) and a huge Tesco on Warwick and Cromwell. Plus there are alot of places on Earls Ct road, including a post office and tube station for District and Piccadilly lines (2 main lines to central London).

I go to London as a solo female and have always felt safe since Bobbies frequent the area since tehre are alot of pubs around and Cromwell Rd has a main thoroughfare, so I never felt "alone" and vulnerable, even if getting back to my hotel after midnight.

Just stayed in that area last November with my elderly mother. We felt safe and tube stops were convenient. Many shops and restaurants to take care of your needs, as well.
