How much time should I allow in Geiranger?

We are planning a trip to Norway in July, 2014. We are renting a car and driving around for 5 days. Our itinerary right now is to fly into Bergen on a Sunday evening, rent the car and drive to Flam (late arrival, of course.) We are planning on all day Monday in the Flam/Aurland area. On Tuesday, we are planning to travel up the Snow road, across the fjord on the ferry and up along the fjord, staying the night at the Nes Gard Guesthouse. We hope to get over to the Feigumfoss waterfall either Tuesday afternoon or Wednesday morning. On Wednesday we plan to drive up the Sognefjellet route through Lom and then on to Geiranger by Wednesday evening. We are planning on two nights in Geiranger to allow all day Thursday to see the fjord and the Dalsnibba viewpoint. We are planning on going up the Trollstigen route Friday morning and then back down to the Oslo airport by Friday night - a long day but we think a doable one. My question is - is there enough to see and do in Geiranger to justify 2 nights/one full day there? Is Hellsylt worth a visit? We could always do the round trip ferry which would take up most of the day. Any suggestions or thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

We spent two nights in Geiranger at the Grand Fjord Hotel. We arrived there late afternoon, spent the next day taking the ferry round trip. We did not get off the ferry, just stayed on for the return trip. We also bought a few things at the one "good quality" gift shop (they had crystal, pewter, and Dale sweaters) in Geiranger. That filled the day, but we certainly would not have wanted to spend another day there - it's a very small village.

Thanks for the info, Cynthia. That was pretty much our plan - arrive in the evening on Wednesday, spend all day and night on Thursday and leave on Friday. We aren't sure if we are going to do the round trip ferry which would take most of the day or just the 1.5 hour sightseeing boat. They also have the 1 hour rib boat which I am very intrigued with. If we are there the entire day, maybe we can do both!
